A congressional response to a friend's recent request for his congressman's oath of office:

Mr. *********

Thank you for your call earlier today. I contacted the History and Preservation Office and asked about obtaining a copy of the Congressman's oath and was told that according to House Rules (specifically Rule VII) House records are closed to the public for 30 years. And since a new oath is adminstered each Congress, the clock for those 30 years started in January 2009. That being said, I am able to provide you with a website that the Clerk of the House operates that shows who has taken the oath for the 111th Congress. I hope that this is useful.

If there is anything else I can do to help you, please let me know.
Thanks and have a great night.
